"Are you getting the best investment advice?"
well... maybe it's time to declare your stock trading and investment
independence. Among the top reasons for self-directing one’s
investments are greater control and flexibility. But there’s one
other very good reason for becoming your own portfolio manager:
"The potential for better performance". |

First, just say no! ...to a few things when using my ETF
stock-market trading and investment strategy
Costly subscriptions
- forget market timing newsletter subscription, specialized
software application or seminars to name a few. Because, plenty of
stock investment resources are on the internet for free. I
will show you how to get it and how to set it up.
Researching company fundamentals - Leave the research of blue
ship companies to the +4,000 stock market analysts working for
many brokerages and investment banks. These experts do their
homework and get the inside scoop on the prospects of the
companies that they follow.
Complex technical skills - no complicated
theories like Elliott Wave, Ichimoku Cloud,
Bollinger Bands, Fibonacci Retracement or Donchian Channels, just to name a few.
Don't let a failed short
term idea turn into a long term lemon - Over the long
haul, what separates the best traders from the also-rans isn't
winning on every trade but the discipline to close out the losers.
It's hard to admit you're wrong but traders know that once the
catalyst is over, the trade is done. Remember... hope is not a
viable investment thesis.
Excessive investment research time (Homework)
- some experts recommend one hour of research for each stock
per week. But with my stock investment plan, it's just minutes each
day to setup, maintain and control your investment portfolio.
Spirited bulls and
sluggish bears "...perma-bulls and perma-bears are attention-getters, not money-makers.
Avoid their views like plagues. Those views might make for juicy
headlines, but they are not typically substantiated by rigorous in
analysis. Importantly, their views rarely prove accurate or
value-added." _Doug Kass
Being driven by emotion
-
emotions often cloud our decision-making and prevent us
from acting in a rational manner.

Exchange Traded Funds advantage as compared to Mutual Funds
It’s frequently written in the financial presses that ETFs are
now challenging traditional actively-managed mutual funds for
investor dollars. While mutual funds are still the dominant
player in the industry, ETFs have made significant inroads in
recent years, due in large part to several significant
advantages over mutual funds.
The 5 advantages are:
-
Lower Expenses
- Tax Efficiency
-
Daily Disclosure
-
Increased Flexibility
